Hi all, just moved over from the Boxster forum having owned and enjoyed my Boxster for 8 years, hope to pick up my 05 997 3.6 2,this afternoon. Its just had an MOT and the only advisory was that the font tyres were wearing slight more on the inner sides, given that its had the track control arms replaced I thought Id get the tracking checked. So my question is does anybody know the Porsche recommended settings.

Toe setting will definitely need adjustment after lower arm replacement.

Most modern alignment systems will have a database. It's worth asking when it was last updated and if it has your Porsche model in it.

I believe that kwik-fit are rolling out Hunter systems throughout the uk - these could be worth a punt if you want to save money over the OPC price.

Double-check the tyre pressures, too. Running at or above the recommended pressure can cause excess wear on the inside edges under normal driving, as the standard set-up places more 'weight' on the inside edge (This ensures a more even loading across the whole tyre section while conering)

You really need to have a 4 wheel alignment check, toes and cambers, and not just front toes. Many of us use Centergravity for this although there are several others who know their geo onions, depending on where you are located.
