OBC (Onboard Computer) Hack

Having bought a 2nd hand C4, I was disappointed to find I didn' t have the OBC option, having had it on my previous 2 Boxsters. I had the Temp Gauge, which all C4s have but not the rest of the functions. Printed off from the Boxster Board
" www.986board.com" a hack, allowing all the functions of the OBC apart from the speed gong.

All I needed was to purchase a spare switch, some bits and pieces and follow the instructions - Sounds easy, however I am not so clever so a mechanic friend did the rest of the work. Works great, apart from now showing how poor my fuel consumption is.

If you' ve got enough time to play with the OBC you' re not driving it like you should.
Buy a DELL for home and drive the Porsche.

The Boxster hack is the same for 996' s. This is for pre 2001 model' s- as long as you have the temperture probe ( front right air intake in front bumper) you can get your OPC to activate the temperture function using PST2. After that a copy of the hack downloaded from www.986board.com is all you need to get it to work for you.

Does anybody have any experience of a UK OPC enabling the OBC with their PST2 ?

If so how much did they charge as I have just traded my BMW 740i with every gizmo you can think of for my 911 Cab and I miss knowing the outside temp etc.

Sorry I have been on holiday, any OPC worth its salt would do it for nothing !! It only requires a quick flick of the PST2, however you do need the temp probe, found in the right side grill, without it it will notwork.
