OBD Seminar

I saw a second mention of the diagnostics seminar in May's PP - I'm definitely interested in this (please Maurice)

Do I need to build my own interface first?

Looking at the thread on the interface (from September) it's not clear if a "buy-it-ready-and-working" option became available, anyone bought one?

Hi Maurice,

Yes please for the seminar

Billet headed monster still going well, hope to see you at a PCGB track day soon

All the best

John

Hi Maurice,

After chatting to you on the phone today, I just want to confirm my interest in this as well...I don't always check the Forum for information as much as I should [8|]

Maurice,
Whilst I usually leave it to experts to tell me what is amiss with my car I would value an insight into diagnostics. Whether I would fully comprehend is altogether another matter. But I would welcome the chance to try.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I could get some built. I have waited until mine is complete and working, and it appears to be fine. I willl bring it along to the seminar and if it does all the things it is supposed to do, the man who built mine is prepared to build them for ÂŁ50 total, subject to a minimum order of 10 units, as he has to get the PCBs made and there is a setup cost for the process.

Make me no 1 - subject to being able to connect to an older style round plug

Cheers

I emailed all interested parties and that seemed to be OK

Maurice, I did not get an email from you? By "interested parties" did you mean us or the jumble folks? Just wondering if my club email address is wrong.

Hi Maurice

Well I promised I would join the Register!!

Please put me down for the seminar on the 7th

Many thanks

David Crowther

I have a nice fault ready and waiting for analysis on the day! (unless someone here tells me I need to rush to get it fixed!)

My indy tell me I'm getting a "MAF out of range" fault - but one he does not understand. (a) because car seems to be behaving like the MAF is OK and (b) because in "raw" mode he is getting nothing but exclaimation marks back from the signal from the MAF sensor.

Any comments on how a faulty MAF should make the car behave?

Yes - indeed - I was just thinking that it will at least give us one fault we can plug in and expect to see.

Due to Maurice being indisposed (see here) it has been concluded that this seminar, scheduled for the Cornbury House Open Day on 7th October, be temporarily postposed until a more suitable date can be arranged.

There will be a notice to this effect put in the next edition of Porsche Post but since the seminar largely came from discussions on the forum it's probably more prudent that it's postponement should be more effective here.

A rescheduled date will obviously be published here (and in PP) but if there are any questions please direct them to me (via the Forum) or to Ken Coad.

Regards

Dave
