Occasional power loss

Grateful for any suggestions on the following - on some occasions (but not all)and soon (about a mile or so) after I have started up and driven off, my car loses all power and coasts for about 5 secs before firing up again. After that, I don't experience any further problem and the car runs perfectly even after stopping and re-starting. Seemed most likely to me to be a fuel issue so I changed the DME relay, however whilst the situation is better (in the sense that the cutting out now seems to occur less frequently) it hasn't been cured completely. There doesn't seem to be any fuel leaks. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

Check the Air Flow meter wiring has been tired back as per the technical bulletin. http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/2947343-post4.html

↑↑↑ Nice one Ras62. That was my first thought too. My 964RS's engine used to very occasionally 'cough' when I hit certain bumps on certain roads. I did the mod as above around 5 years ago and it's never happened again.

Thats strange as the Tech bulletin applies to the early cars, do you think it must be the case for all? Certainly cured my problem, although it was more moving the bracket/pipe than altering the AFM wiring. Belt & braces I guess.

Ray, when it happens does stall and all the dash lights come on? Particularly when coming to a stop and pressing the clutch?
