ODB2 Pin question?

So Poo

I know that pin 9 gives you a live (ish) rpm feed in a 996. What do the other pins do? Anything interesting?

Cheers - so TN is rpm then?

And basically nothing else useful to be gained. Was hoping for throttle position to break position. Nevermind.

I have seen devices which plug into the socket and read the CAN signals to give you information on a digital display. I thought it might be nice to get one for an oil temperature display, but it isn't clear if that data is available in the CAN signals.

I think you are correct that the TN signal is rpm, but not 100% sure. That's how it is labelled on the wiring diagrams.

Pin 9 is definately giving rpm as I have a shift light indicator that uses that feed directly. It does seem difficult to get more info without being a little invasive. Thanks for your help Richard.
