Recently bought a 996 C4 cabrio - noticed that when arming the car, it beeps shortly after pressing the remote fob. Apparently this indicates not all of the armed zones are properly closed - I believed these zones to be engine cover, driver's door, passenger door, lockable central console, and bonnet.
Removed the hard top last weekend, and erected the soft top. Now every time I arm the car, it's absolutely fine - no beep.
Couldn't be bothered to replace the hard top, as by this time, it had been stored away, and it's not exactly a one-man job!
So, given that the hard top fixes in 3 places, are one (or more) of those locations covered by the alarm?
TIA.
