Odd question...

My car is LHD - where is the 'correct' place to display the tax disc in the UK....?

Bottom left or bottom right of the screen as you look out of the car? Or is there no law regarding position?

(Told you it was an odd question!)

When I had my LHD 3.2, I used to put it in the bottom left of the drivers side windscreen

You can actually get fined for incorrect display.
With the new technology that the boys in blue have for reading tax discs via cameras mounted on the rear of traffic (sorry 'response') cars, these seem to be set up for looking at the nearside of the windscreen.
Cheers,

Good idea but the law says it must be clearly visible! Even if you have road tax on the vehicle it is an offence not to display it.
In my area Mr. Plod has confiscated a vehicle for having the radio too loud[:'(][:'(][:'(]

It would be very difficult to prove that, simply because a scanning device could not read a tax disc, that it was not clearly visible. All that means is you should be able to see it. A passerby could easily see it, as could a BIB so no real problem I think.

I drive a LHD C2. I got stopped by the police at a security checkpoint in London & they told me to move it to the nearside corner!! Still have yet to do that though....! My argument is that it impares my view of the road when it's on the drivers side!

Andy - that's my feeling too! When I had it on the passenger side it seemed fine and a logical place for it to be - out of the driver's 'immmediate' vision. Placing it on the left side restricts some of my view of the road. Still.... rules must be obeyed!!!

I would imagine that when the position of the tax disc was decided the idea of someone actually having a left hand drive car in this country wasn't taken into consideration. Obviously the powers that be are prepared to move with the times and allow some flexibility on the positioning - NOT.[:)]
