OE Overmats

I purchased some OE overmats for my 924 today, but the one for the drivers side does not seem to be a perfect fit. I just wondered if anyone else had found this, or do I have the wrong mats. The part number for them is 000 043 153 20 5PV.

I paid £100 for them and had expected them to fit perfectly.
 
I got some made up by Autostyle for about £60 and they didn't fit properly either. They had a 924 logo and a driver's side reinforcement piece.
Maybe the pattern was based on the earliest car or maybe someone just didn't measure up properly.

Not sure its too critical as long as they protect whats underneath?
 
I phoned the OPC and they said that they are the correct part number, but that they are for 924, 944, and 968. I suspect that they fit the 968 properly and just about fit the other two cars.

The drivers side is slightly too wide. I am going to trim it myself, and have found a local carpet shop that will re-bind it for a remarkable £2!
