OEM look DAB radio

Hi,
The Alpine radio cassette player (yes it's that old) in my '83 square dash has finally up the ghost.
Anyone got any suggestions for an OEM look DAB radio with bluetooth phone integration and a USB connection. I've been considering a VDO one (http://www.vdo.com/special-v…/audio-products/audio-products/) Anyone tried this one?
There is a Blaupunkt Stockholm, that looks OK but gets very mixed reviews. http://www.blaupunktdirect.co.uk/…/stockholm-230-dab-ready.…

Also replacement speakers that'll fit the original door and rear apertures. Focal has been suggested to me again any experiences?

Radios with DAB and Bluetooth are slightly rare. If you can do without Bluetooth then it makes the choice easier.

I have a DAB Blaupunkt Woodstock 54, which I bought second-hand some years ago and is simply excellent. I've always liked Blaupunkt kit as it's un-glitzy, works well and usually looks good in a very low-key way. I wonder what the mixed reviews of the Stockholm unit were concerned about.

New door speakers are a good idea but a small external amplifier is well worth the £60 or so you'll spend on it and don't forget to spend your time on the installation. Some sound deadening stuff in the immediate vicinity of the speakers makes a HUGE difference and costs pennies. I'd put time and money into these two aspects before spending too much time thinking about the choice of speaker.

I wouldn't say they were rare. I have a Sony unit. Black with tasteful blue lighting to match my binacle and gauges. Does standard and DAB radio. Aux in, USB, Bluetooth, hands free with no external mic. Pretty much everything you need and looks OK. Less than £100 I think. And you can charge your phone too. DAB aerials usually come separate though but not expensive.

What do you use for a DAB aerial as I assume the one built into the windscreen is no good?

I've acquired a 1992 s2 cab with sills that need some work to probably both inner and outer sills. my local OPC says no longer available, no surprise, anyone got an idea where I can source them from?

I have a VDO headunit fitted to my 968, It has no CD player, just a tuner/aux/usb input (also has bluetooth/phone kit) nice plain looking stereo without all the flashy lights most have to offer! Also ordered mine in an amber display so it looks very oem.

I made one. It's a dipole and the relevant length is 14 inches I seem to remember. Mine has old TV co-ax connectors to connect it to the back of the radio. The length of the dipole goes up the A-pillar on the passenger side so you can't see it.
