I use Microsoft Word 2002. When ever I pull up an old document to fill in - say a fax header sheet for example, after the first couple of words the document locks up for what seems like two minutes. It never happened with earlier versions and drives me mad.

Maybe you can sort Titanics e-mail problem. I tried unsubcribing today (never look at Titanic I'm afraid, don't like the set-up) without success. Hundreds of unwanted messages today.
Snap, very very annoying.

I see how it would be, but today half the mails have been "Unwanted email" etc. which hasn't really helped.
Good point..
I don't know why but Titanic seems to have changed ISP, I'm assuming.
No sooner had I set up Outlook to put all Titanic e-mails into a Titanic folder (logical I thought) they started comming through to my main mail box again. I had to build another rule.[]
It also gets on your mamaries that all subsequent posts seem to have attachements.[:'(]
Granted Titanic is quicker but I think this forum is more fun. If we could get half a dozen or so of the primary Titanic users to use this forum I don't think I would need to go to Titanic.[8|]
Unfortunately the URL for here contains the word 'forum' which makes it too easy for the Internet Gestapo in various workplaces to block it (Dougie tells me BT do, for example).
BTW why not use the rule "When the Subject line contains [Porsche944]" then it doesn't matter if the mail domain changes.

Had I realised that things were going to change I perhaps would have.
John, the document you are opening, was it originally written in Word 2002?
Yes - it does contain a logo image and several text boxes though I'm note sure if this makes a difference as it seems to do it with all word documents.
All documents seem to open relatively quickly, its just when I try to edit them that things seem to go temorarily grind to a halt.
If I log on to another dial up account the tiscali mail message sends ok, but this is a pain.
Mail goes from my broadband address fine.
Any ideas?
TIA
Tony
Change the settings on the Tiscali account so the outgoing server address is the same as the one you have for your Broadband email and it will work. Basically it will send your Tiscali mail just the same as your new Broadband mail but with Tiscali as the reply address.
