yep it had to didn't it.. be closed that is.

I got my 944 back from it's winter storage as it was leaking inside the car so nice and dry and back home and covered to help it stay dry till I get to the bottom of the water leak!

anyway I thought I best check the anti freeze level for winter and guess what.. I pulled the bonnet and snap!

yep I have a lose bonnet handle in the passenger footwell and no bonnet open!

H E L P ! ! ! ! ! ! ! [&:]

more than anything I just want to check the strength of the anti freeze Des is it ok in there??

Check it is actually the cable snapped and not just the plastic housing in the footwell. I had this, and found that you can grasp the handle and pull, and it will open the bonnet - worth looking at.

The plastic backing is certainly a more likely candidate and not too expensive from your OPC, too.

My handle snapped last year and the part numbers and prices you want are covered here:

I hope it is just plastic I will go and rake a look in a mo. weather temps dropping next week so want to check antifreeze

He's opened to me last year and it wasn't the handle it snap from under the bonnet

It can be opened with a large flat head and some patience.

Ok I've taken a look your right that backing plate gas bust best try and find one of those then. Might be OPC Portsmouth visit in the week

They are cheap enough from the Opc... In the meantime, hopefully you have at least been able to get to it with antifreeze!

No not yet but now it's day light I will take a look later this afternoon..

So my jobs for this year are as follows

Bonnet backing plate pull thingy

Sunroof seals..

Rear tail gate seal..

Do 944's have an emergency bonnet release cable hidden behind the nearside front indicator or driving light? - 968's do.

That is the problem... They don't.

912uk, I have just discovered my sunroof seal has shrunk back over the last year and is now leaking. I followed your idea, and taped it up to prove that is the problem, and will wait for much warmer weather to fit new. Having fitted one previously, I know it will be a lot more of a problem to manipulate the rubber when everything is cold, and more importantly I fear it won't be such a good job as a result (unless of course you have a nice warm workshop in which you can significantly raise the temperature of car and rubber!).

I was just going to use a hot air gun and fit the seal to the sun roof in the house!

I may have to buy a new sunroof as this one is not in good condition to be honest.

I will take photo's later as it's been bodged I would love Des to PM me on the QT and let me know who collected what looks to be £1200 worth of sunroof repair work and it's well

a lash up to be honest.

I have been quoted £80 for a used roof and I can pick out all the parts I need for it to repair this or just swap the two over..

Oh and it's Mark btw way most early 912 people know my name [:D]

you know what I might look to fit one as it can't be hard as a back up.. to this known issue.

Are you going to bring it along to the Dyno day Saturday-week Mark? I suspect there are a lot of people would like to see it, whether you put it on the rollers or not (go on... put it on[;)])...

Tref.
