oh dear is it dead?

the wife started the sc this morning and it went bang . I have had a look and i guess its the famous airbox and it looks like its come apart , is it buggared.

I guess the car now not starting and just turning over is a bad sign?
 
Harv it's not the end of the world, it can be fixed, if you are not a DIYer get a garage to come and pick it up as it is unlikely to start now with the incorrect mixture, even if it did it's not going to do the engine any good with the mixture as it is. Try and source a used airbox as new they are expensive and get the garage to fit a pop off valve too, the kit can be bought cheaply from Type 911.
 
my airbox looks like its a 2 part device held together with screws anyway ? is this how they are , i'll dig out my bentley manual and look .
Yes i'll DIY and i ave a few jobs on it i really should do , but this one has caught me out a little.
 
i had the same problem on my 2.7 so if you need any advice or help mail me wblackw9@ford.com wont be in till monday but will be glad to assist. i rebuilt it mywelf, easy job just fiddly!
