Oh Dear, New Front Panel Required!

Having purchased a K&N air filter for my S2 I set about the easy task of changing it. Easy my A**E! After struggling for 1hour to remove the front panel I just couldn't shift the thing so in my wisdom decided to slot a screwdriver in behind and try to tap out the panel. A couple of light taps and still no movement, so one rather large tap and some movement, relief. NO, screwdriver straight through and poking out the other side S**T!!
Finally found the 2 screws still holding the panel in place, removed and replaced filter no worries. A real awkward job getting panel back on but finally managed and completed the job 3 hours later! ~Try not to laugh so hard!
Have had chips away out to look at damage but can't repair due to the fact they couldn't get the paint to harden enough due to the location of the hole?
So purpose of the post is a) give you all a good laugh b) would this be true c) has anyone got a black front panel they would like to sell me.

Cheers
Simon

The screws through into the wings by any chance? If so I did try to warn people about them earlier this week...
