Oh no! Car is not right

I'm worried [&:]

I started my car up tonight and heard a 'thunk' and the engine cut out.
I restarted and and it does run and go but does not idle.

It's not losing any oil, the oil pressure seems fine, the water is the right colour, the belts are intact and the electrics all work.

Any suggestions...
 
The 'armadillo' shaped air hose popped off of the air flow sensor and caused the poor running - invisible at first glance but 2 Porsche specialists easily diagnosed it.

Pushed it back on and tightened the jubilee clip - job done! [:)]
