Oh no! Not tyres again.........

............but this time with a difference!

I am competing in the PCNSW sprint series. Sprints over here are a bit different than in the UK. All are held on tracks. In the morning, there are 2 practice sessions of about 10 minutes each. This should mean about 10 laps. Then, in the afternoon, there are 2 competitive sessions of 4 laps each - 1 out lap, 2 fast laps and a cool down lap.

So, I need to choose a street legal tyre that will work in the above situation. Ideally, I want a tyre that will last me a season, which is only 4 events.

Any ideas?

Simon,
Add youre details to the "definitive list" thread & I'll tell you[;)]
Seriously, Do you have the equivelant of List 1a & 1b tyres over there? A sprint tyre (like the Kumho's)
may be too soft, if so your might find you can get enough heat in the Pilot Cups for them to work properly.

Try Stuckey Tyre Service http://www.stuckey.com.au/index.aspx - they seem to have a Dunlop bias but look like one of the most knowledgable outfits down your way!

MPC Shirley?
I don't know if MPC's are different down here but the racing community really slag them off for everything but the heaviest cars. They say it is too hard to get heat into them!

Tony

I will add mine to the list once I unwrap my other wheels and check the offsets! I was concerned that Kumho's would be too soft. Maybe OK for the actual timed bit but they wouldn't last the practice!

It seems they don't care what "list" it is from so long as they are road legal.
