Oh no there goes the MAP kit.

All the best Slim.

Now you need to think of reasons why a 2 door sports car with little in the way of back seats is practical with a baby[;)]

Questions will come - you might as well think of answers now[:D]

Cheers, i am afraid i am on borrowed time with the car, just have to try and stretch it as far as possible!!!

Better enjoy the next few months with it thats for sure!!!!!

Congrats Slim, I had a large hatchback when my daughter was born and moved to the 944 and she loves it ( well as much as a 3 year old can ) and it does sound good when she says her dad drives a Red Porsche [8D]

Official and public congratulations from me too.

Maybe just keep the the car as-is for a while would mean you can afford it - it's pretty close to spot on by the time you get it back on the road and a natural break point in the mods unless you want to go for MAP, injectors, turbo, injectors etc.

I think thats very much going to be the case, i am hoping to keep it for atleast another year, but just never know, everything is very much up in the air right now.

One things for sure, someone is going to get a nice car if and when the dreaded time comes!!!

i will be in the same boat soon[:D]
so
1st the back seats where designed with the young in mind
2nd because they are hatch backs, easy access for the push-chair and stuff[:D]
3rd your baby deserves to be driven around in style
4th When baby gets tired a quick way to get back home, nipping through traffic etc.
5th for bonding reasons you and your new born need a shared interest

these are some of the reasons im going to be using on the wife

MArc

PS congratulations

I dont think i have to tell you what her answers will be, lolss a nice try mind.

Just to add a bit of safety - this was at 35mph, and it didn't even crumpe the boot floor, never mind touch the rear seats!

Excuse number 325:-

"We need to keep it for the safety of the baby you know"

Many Congratulations. I take this will be your first?

I have just had an addition too - about 6 weeks ago and I still have my Turbo although you can almost hear everyone saying
"How long will he be keeping that thing",
" I bet he will be selling the Porsche soon",
" how is he going to carry a baby in that!"

well all I can say is " it aint goin nowhere!!"

Just make the missus change hers!!! [:D][:D] I DID! ended up with a Volvo Turbo C70 though.

Well done.

PS Could come useful in 9 months time - it won't be forced induction it will be forced "induced" [:D]

Congratulations Slim [:D]

No reason why the '44 has to go. I have two boys aged 15 and 12 and our 944s are the biggest cars we've ever had.

Don't believe all the claptrap about MPV's and 4x4s they are a complete waste of space and a perfect example of marketing gone mad. Just make sure you buy folding pushchair, highchair, travel cot etc and you'll be fine

Was that you just offering to pay for all my bills from now on Paul, lolsss

Afraid the numbers dont stack up, at the end of the day the car is expensive to run (maybe not compared to other similar cars) but it is too a diesel golf lols.

Anyway not wanting to think about that too much right now, going to enjoy this summer of running and see what happens.

'cor blimey! ~ congratulations mate. [:)]

I agree with others comments ~ my two savages (four & seven) fit easily in the back ~ it's a great "family car". [:D]

Of course it costs more to run than a diesel golf, but...... well that's a battle you'll have to fight. You may find you don't have the time or energy to enjoy the car for a few years (pootling around at 30mph pulling no more than 0.05g lateral 'cos precious is in the car is no fun) .....let alone the cash..... but hey.... you know you will return!

Resist if you can though [;)]

its is true to say tha they are more practical that one would think, we have a bmw 5 series for the main family car and my little 924S for the fun car, but when it came time to pick up the new mountain bike for the missus, it wouldnt fit in the bmw, but it did in the 924S, the same happened when i was re-tiling the kitchen, they wouldnt fit in the boot of the bemmer but would in the Porsche. Its quite funny to see the faces of people as i pull up to loading bays at ikea wiht the Porsche and manage to get stuff in the back and drive off with no real major headaches.
