My 6 year old noticed water or what looked like water on the driveway from the 944. Good lad but that means trouble ahead !

I put the car in storage so I'm going to have to bring it back to check it over. I know its cold but the water trails have not dried out on the driveway in 48hrs so thy means its coolant !!!!! Ekk

I have not checked the mixture level yet but there was some colour in there. And the level was still good on my daily check. I hope it's just a minor leak, old cars hey :-/

Worth checking the plastic elbow off the front of the engine (it's an S2?), with a small bore pipe running up to the expansion tank (so it's under pressure?). I think the water pump is somewhere behind. It's not uncommon to find a leak there...feel underneath the flange (with the engine off of course), and if it's damp you may have found your leak.

Mine wen,t and leaked a surprising amount. It's fixed by 2 Allen screws that tighten down onto metal sleeves in the plastic flange (I guess to reduce the risk of over tightening and distorting the flange). However the seal relies on an O ring in the face of the flange, but if the moulding's distorted getting a seal is a forlorn hope IMHO (look at the parts diagram on the PET)...you can either try a new elbow or I successfully sealed mine as follows:

Remove O ring.
Check face for flatness with a straightedge.
Flat it off with medium wet & dry on a block of wood.
Check for flatness again.
Clean thoroughly, re fit O ring and re assemble.

In practice very little material is removed...I may have gone belt and braces and smeared Hylomar on the face of the flange.

It could of course just be a split hose....
