oil consumption

Not much, my Cayman S gen 1 has done 54,400 and I put about 200ml in this week, I hadn't added any in about 6 months. Many say they just check with no top ups between services but if they're not doing the mileage but servicing against the calendar I can understand that, I am currently doing about 600 miles per week but that only began recently. However I have done similar mileage before without great oil consumption.

hi all
can anyone tell me what oil consumption I should expect on my 2010 Cayman 2.9. it's done 24000 miles?
cheers

Hi I have a Gen 1 Cayman S with 22,000 on the clock and it uses about 250ml every 2500 miles. So nothing drastic Trevor

Steve, I can only recall adding 200ml of oil in 10,000 miles or so on my Gen2 Cayman S, but mine's not in every day use and I rarely, if ever, take it out for a run of less than 20 miles in light traffic. The Driver's Manual states an engine oil consumption up to 1.5 litres/1,000km for your Cayman. Jeff

On my Cayman S Sport ltd edition I never put any oil in the time i owned it 9k and 15k . I am sure others who have done more mileage can give you an indication as to whether you should put oil in or not and how much.

thanks very much all, it's what I thought, I just wanted some other experiences with the car .cheers steve WS
