Oil Filter

I've got a 2005 997 C2s artic silver with the chrono upgrade, can anyone tell me where the oil filter is?
Looking under the rear of the car centrally but slightly to the off side (or drivers side) there is what looks like an oil filter that is near to an aluminium cross member it points downward to the floor. I think this is it the oil filter but can anyone confirm?

Thanks..

Thanks for that, the reason why I ask is that ive just had a quite expensive main dealer service (£800+) and this filter has not been changed but it looks like the actual filter is a cartridge that sits inside the metal casing. It still doesn't look like it's been touched though but i'll just have to trust them, think I might be being a little too suspicious here.
Had to replace 5 cracked coils at a cost of nearly £200, is this normal on a 5 year old car with 35000 miles? Do they tend to crack every time the plugs are changed?

Thanks
Jim P

Yes, the filter is a cartridge inside the metal casing and I would be very surprised (if not astonished) if they hadn't changed it as part of the service.

Coil packs are known offenders. 10 instances on the warranty thread (members section so sorry you can't see it!) with multiple replacements in many cases with mileages as low as 1600. They are particularly prone to water damage following heavy rain and surface water. (Personal experience here) They shouldn't crack as part of plug replacement as far as I know!

The majority of manufacturers have the same issue with the coil packs... and surprisingly the Porsche ones are cheaper than many others!!

Thanks for the reply, always a little suspicious after catching my local Vauxhall garage trying to pull a fast one on another car I owned but that's another story.. Very happy with the Porsche in fact that's probably an understatement!

Be suspicious, an OPC didn't change my engine oil at a minor service several years ago. However not all services require changing the oil/air filters even if the oil is changed check your service manual
