Oil indicator warning message

Yes, most likely the sensor, and it is quite common. There are two connectors on the sensor, one for the light, and the other for the gauge. You could try removing and replacing them, as sometimes it is just a dodgy connection. More likely the sensor will need replacing though.

The sensor is on the right hand cylinder head, about half way back, pointing vertically upwards. You can access it from the top, but it is a bit buried. If you search the forum, you should find a photo.

Thanks Richard I saw it on Saturday when I was doing the manifolds so I cleaned the connections will have to wait and see.

Mine flashed up today and then the gauge sat at 0. However, on my return home there was no indicator message and the gauge was moving around in the 2.5 to 4 range. Probably a dodgy connection... I'll take a look at it - it's definitely within even my limited enthusiasm for DIY. Did cleaning the connections work for you pieman?

Also, if it's a faulty sensor - any ideas on price to get it replaced?

Hi jamesekirby so far it has not come on again. Like Richard said I gave them a clean when I saw it. Price wise have a look on design 911 good luck. The oil pressure on the gauge was that on tick over?

Perfect, thanks. After the indicator came on the pressure was at 0 for about 5-10 mins as I was driving. Once I had restarted the engine the gauge sat at about 2.5 at tickover and theN ranged from there to about 4 whilst driving.

I'll give them a clean tomorrow and see how it goes. I'll also probably order a replacement anyway as it will probably need changing at some point.

Thanks again.
