I know oil gets done to death as a forum subject.......However, I usually supply my own oil for servicing of my 993 turbo (48k miles and to date full OPC history), to shave a few pennies off the cost. I've tended to buy quality oils with a Porsche A40 approval so that the OPC will use it. As far as I can make out, A40 is only available as 0W-40 or 5W-40 which was recommended when the car was new. I presume formulations have moved on since 1997, and therefore, should I really source the extortionately priced Porsche Classic 10W-60 Oil as now recommended by Porsche at over £200 for 10 litres?!
It would have to be quality Porsche approved cooking oil.
