Oil leak??

T200

New member
Hi was wondering if any of you guys could help with a slight leak from my BoxterS tiptronic. Found a small patch on the garage floor, found it the next moring after taking it for a long spin checked on the dip stick and no sign of any loss there checked the brake fluid no loss there. Any ideas ut there

I have the same problem. Tiny, tiny amount of oil on the garage floor under the rear of the car.

Is it a big deal? And does it need looking at right away? (And is it typically covered under Warranty?)

Depends.

How old is your car?
If it's less than 5 years old, with full service history, then Porsche will probably (although I don't guarantee this!) replace free of charge.
If you have the warranty, then yes it will be done.

If the above does not apply, and you are not losing oil (you don't have to top up,... you can't actually see it dripping), then you may as well wait until the clutch needs replacing.

Otherwise, it's 6 hours labour for a £15 part

Hi Mark and thanks

it's a 2002 Boxster S tiptronic, so no Porsche warranty but I took out an AA Gold warranty when I bought it.

I guess I'll wait for the next service and get them to have a look at it then.
