1985 3.2 Carrera Targa

any HELP WOULD BE APPRACIATED

Hi Pepe Should be fixable with engine in, the problem is figuring out exactly where it's coming from. Is it coming from where the cam covers seal against the cam housing, or elsewhere? I had a similar problem a while back which turned into a major oil leak. Turned out to be a loose rocker shaft (each rocker has its own) which had started to slide out, allowing oil out the side of the cam housing. Just had to remove the cover, tap it back into place and lock it up with allen keys. Had to do it twice, it stayed put the second time. Even if you have to remove the cam housing, I would think its possible with engine in (although fiddly) perhaps someone else can confirm. Hope this helps

Hi Graham Yes you can change the " O " ring and gaskets with the engine in. But you will need the right tools to undo the cam shaft nut, and a dial gauge to reset the cam timing. Also remove the rear silencer and rear engine mounting bracket to get at it. support the engine. Put the engine on TDC before you strip it down, Not a job for the faint hearted. Have you got the Bentley repair Manuel?? Charles
