OIL LEVEL WARNING 2005 CAYENNE

I recently bought my car with a "check oil level" warning on the dash, after having a new sensor from GSF car parts fitted,I had a "check oil level service workshop failure" warning and the oil temp gauge which also runs off this sensor was either reading at max bringing up a warning or was reading zero. After searching the net I came across a post on another forum saying that the original "check oil level" warning is usually caused by the canbus software for the dash hanging up and can be solved by pulling and then replacing fuse 40 in the left hand fuse box on the end of the dash which controls the instrument panel diagnosis system.I had the original sensor refitted, pulled and replaced the fuse and so far so good.Hope this helps others with the same problem.
