Oil pressure gauge / sender trouble

Hi all,

My oil pressure gauge has started acting up: works fine from cold, then starts over reading when warmed up, finally ending up indicating constantly way over 5 when running and at idle (sometimes it drops back to 4 at idle).... and even reading 5 when the engine and ignition are turned off occasionally. When you turn the ignition back on it "shudders" back to zero. Assume (hope!) this is electrical, and hopefully the sender is the culprit. Is it easily accessible ?
