Oil pressure guage - normal behaviour

Just changed my oil pressure sender as the oil pressure gauge was working intermittently. I've fixed that but when starting from cold the gauge reads almost 5 and hardly moves at all until the oil warms up. After 10mins of driving it behaves as I'd expect (around 3.5 at 3k rpm). At idle it's down at around 1.5 and will rise to 4ish if I give it some. It's just the cold start value I'm not sure about... what's normal?
 
Mine too! It's a very common question on this (and other) forums though - so you're far from alone on this one! Perfectly normal. [:)]
