Oil Pressure Light at Idle

Welcome Scott.

The oil light coming on when hot at very low revs is not a problem if it goes out when you give it some revs. There is specific mention of this in the handbook. Happens on mine every now and again when it gets hot in traffic. Even though I have a recent new sender.

What sort of temperature are you seeing on the gauge?

Hi Steve

The light goes out if you just take it out of "D" and put into neutral in traffic as the revs rise a little, with more revs when you move again it goes out instantly.

Temps are just below the first mark "8 oclock" in normal driving but can go above 8 to just under 9 oclock in traffic or on a warm day around town.

Once the Stat opens and the blower kicks in it drops again and you get moving the temp drops again.

I'll change the sender anyway as the needle does jump alot and I think Ive got an oil weep there to.

Thanks for your help

Scott

I would advise that you buy an original sender from Porsche. I tried two aftermarket ones and they were useless - jumped about like yours is doing. It was only when I bought an original that the problem was resolved. Also get the new o ring (green one) from Porsche while you're at it.
