Oil Pressure Sensor

Hi John,

Just had mine replaced by OPC. 1 hour to confirm fault plus 2 hours to fit. I think it's a tricky DIY due to placement (it's not in the same location as on the non-turbo 996) and allegedly simpler if you can drop the engine several inches. Part itself is relatively inexpensive

Cheers

Does anyone have a step by step guide on changing the oil pressure sender unit on a 996 turbo?

I've posted issues before about oil pressure spiking while driving but today I got an oil pressure warning come up even though oil level is fine. It disappeared once I restarted the engine. I don't want to take any chances though so going to try and change it myself if its an easy diy job.

Thanks everyone
John.

Hello John just changed my oil level Sencer on my 996 c4s easy job the part for yours is about 60.00 I've posted some pic of its position on what did you today. Message me and we can talk over the phone in Moscow at the moment back we'd night

It is located (ie. buried) just behind the oil filter housing on the top of the engine. As 'Bio' says, it is easier if you drop the engine a couple of inches on the rear mounts.

Thank chaps. I'll definitely give that a try and check the mounts in the process.

Thanks Pieman7 for the very kind offer but the location is different on the turbo otherwise would have taken you up on that!

John

My '02 C4 has shown me a message, a couple of times now, saying "oil pressure warning" with the gauge at zero. A few panicked seconds later it disappears & the gauge is back to normal. Oil levels are all fine & I have no signs of a leak, so could this be the sender showing signs of deterioration?
