oil pressure warning light

Gday all! :D

A quick (I hope) question for the collective. My oil pressure warning light is confusing me. I have normal oil pressure according to the gauge (5 bar cold, 3 when warm), yet i have an intermittent problem that the warning light at the bottom of the gauge comes on. It can clear itself on "normal" running, but tends to show up again in start up or when slowing down/idle.

oil level is fine, and its had a change of oil/filter less than 500 miles ago.

I hope its just maybe a sender issue, but then to my mind, the gauge wouldn't function properly either. Help!? [:mad:]

A guy on rennlist had similar symptoms recently. I think it turned out to be something to do with the sender.
