Oil pressure warning

Hi guys. Up in Scotland with fellow member. Hi 991 turbo showed a low oil warning. Added a litre and warning did not reset. Despite gentle running after leaving overnight warning still there. Just changed and now car says warning system unavailable. Any ideas about what is going on. Aviemore on a Saturday morning is not the best time to have a problem..

Had the same issue with a 991.1 some years back and also added oil. It turned out to be a faulty chip for the first fault and an overfill for the second. I drove it carefully until I got back to the OPC having rung them first

Thanks guys. Just two lessons learned. Firstly when the car says add a litre and a half, a litre will not do??. Secondly, read the detailed instruction on checking the level and follow them to the letter. Result - oil level correct! Back on the road to Ullapool.

Hi John.

I’ve just seen this after replying to your PM! Good to hear that you’re sorted and can continue to enjoy your holiday.

Keep an eye on the oil level in case there’s an underlying problem … 1.5L is a fair amount to have to top-up [:(] … and it’s a turbo!

Jeff
