As some of you know I am working my way thru a pile of problem my 76 930 has since a supposed expert gave the engine the 'once over'
I ran her the other day. It started up rough. 15 minutes later it started up a bit better so I drove it get petrol. She drove rough, hesitating and barely enough power to get into 3rd. Filled her up and on the way home she ran well. Started up well and drove well with positive power when I put the boot down. Then the fun started. She started sending oil up the filler cap etc and poured out thru the air filter.
this car used to run well for years before the german guy went to work on it. Any ideas?
One more Q. My battery charge light stays on now. Can this cause any other problems other that not charge the battery?

Has a pipe that has boosted air been connected to the vent system somehow ?

Maybe you are getting so much blow-by (rings/pistons) that it pressures the crankcase on boost. Hope not for you []

A compression/leakdown test will tell you.

I believe now that too much oil may have been put in. The guy who was working on the car said something about 14litres. Other prosche owners suggest 9.5 is enough. I will consider your suggestion once I explore the quantity issue./ Thanks a lot

If it was filled by a 'dipstick' who doesn't realise that you check the level on 911's when they're warm and running, then you've got WAY too much oil in. Easy enough (but possibly messy) to drain it.
