Oil seperater

Just changed the air/oil separator on my Boxster and am so pleased. Took an hour and a half and together with a few scratches all is ok. ( probably would have been easier with the heat shield removed)

I found the easiest way was to remove the top and middle pipe fron on top of the engine bay, then put the car on ramps and squeeze( and I mean squeeze) your arm through the drive shaft and suspension arms and undo the two 10mm bolts that secure the separator to the block then back on top of the engine( had to use a chair as I am only small) to ease the separator away from the block towards the drivers side of the block to remove the bottom pipe.( be careful not to twist the separator as you could break the bottom pipe off) and remove the separator out of the engine bay. To replace: replace the separator in position and get back under the car to guide the bottom pipe into the engine block. Back on top and prise the separator into the engine block using a hammer shaft against the engine bay side. do not force it as it should slide into the block easily. This done, refit the two hoses then replace the securing bolts and the job is done. Hopefully. Sorry if have gone on a bit but I can do not instruct. Hope this helps someone.
