I've started to get some erratic temp readings now and again (like Sturman described in a post a little while ago). Occassionally even after a couple of minutes of driving the needles shoots to the top, bounces around a bit and comes down. It's also done the same whilst on longer drives. The fan is working properly at both speeds and the valve clearly opens to allow flow to the front radiator when the oil warms. One would assume it's the sender itself or a dodgy connection.
Can anyone therefore tell me where to find the sender and what it looks like. Is it easy to get at? At least I can clean the connections before I have to resort to booking it in for work.
