Oil Warning

Took the C2 for the commute this morning and loved it, especially since the roads were quieter than usual thanks to school holidays.

problem is that, on the way home, warning message flashed up on the computer dispaly showing oil can and the message Indicator Failure.

The owners manual tells me this is a warning of failure in the oil pressure gauge (not the oil pressure itself). At the time the oil pressure gauge did drop and fluctuate but then resumed normal readings thereafter.

So, should I be worried?

Regards

Most likely the oil pressure sender. It is quite a common problem. Not too expensive, but tricky to get at. It is mounted on the right hand cylinder head, about half way back, pointing vertically upwards. There are two wires on the top, and it can be simply a bad connection where they plug on to the sender. If you have to change it, it is easier with a crow's foot spanner, and small hands and a grip like a gorilla!

Thanks Richard, I'll have a look when I get a dose of enthusiasm. Or I might just save it up to be done at the next service.
