oil weep

Hi,

Just had my 993 back from its annual service. There was a note about a small oil weep seen on timing chain case... is that serious? what does it mean?

The garage did not bring it to my attention, so either it is minor, or they forgot to... i only saw it when i was going through my bills and invoices.

Is this insignificant for now?

Any views appreciated!


 
It's very common on 993s. Not worth worrying about unless it progresses into a drip.

Mine has it and I was advised to just nip the bolts up a little bit. Alternatively, I have seen posts on Rennlist where people have just changed some of the washer type seals.

I believe that to do a proper gasket change you need to remove or at least lower the engine.
