Reading the current bun today and Halford are doing a buy one get one free on 5W/40 fully synthetic oil total 30 quid for 10 litres! I have a can of the stuff in my shed for topping up and believe its to Porsche servicing spec so its a pretty good deal compared to dealer prices might be worth getting some in for the first service.

Remember to check if your OPC will allow you to provide your own oil. Mine has told me they won't from now on [](my April service) it must be provided by them. Or turn up with it in the boot and tell them on the day. You should then at least get away with it for your first service[;)]

My supplying dealer told me I could supply my own oil and I find it hard to believe that a dealer would say no you can't supply your own oil isn't the customer always right?

I don't think you'll find Halfords "own" on the Porsche Approval list as it's not a proper synthetic but a petroleum based oil.

Still it's your car at the end of the day.

Cheers
Simon

Mine (Glasgow OPC) has said 'we supply the oil next service you are no longer allowed to supply it yourself'.

Maybe we should create a list of the OPCs that let you supply your own oil and those that do not. The we can choose where to have our pride & joys serviced. Is there a way of posting a list of the OPCs on the Forum and letting the members tick Yes or No against them?
