Ok did a thing, mid life crisis, but now these cars are under list why not.

Very nice D! The colour [blue or grey?] really does suit the car, and I assume the the “Green Goddess” has given way to your latest acquisition?

Jeff

No my green car is one of the best I have owned I love this car, this is a temp add and it’s totally mental and has a very small operating window. It would not keep with my GTS on a b road I can tell you that. Just planed 3 or 4 track days this year and wanted to have an RS before I retire.
colour is Artic grey. I said 2 years back, i did say, I don't get this car or the Spyder RS at overs or even list , and reviews are 50/50 love or hate. So now these are under list vs GT3’s I wanted to see for myself and try and cut though the bullshit and good and bad points.
no one as yet has be honest on the 4RS imo. I will be.Even evo slated it then later loved it. Be that wheels on each car, tyre psi I don't know, mine has mags which are 21lbs lighter so it should ride better than a none mag wheel car.
the drive home was fine A14,m11, wondered what the fuss is about, on a quick b road try the car could not keep its rear on the ground and I think would kill you, hence me saying my GTS would leave a R4S on a bumpish road. 1st track day is in 2 weeks. Remember I review ever car while I own them, this is not hearsay or you tube hype :). Good or bad My reviews are honest which does upset people it seems some times.
I still think this engine is one of the best ever made in any brand that I will say. but the v12 Ferrari’s are also up there.
this is 1st shoot from the hip thoughts with 80 miles done.
what I do like so far.
1: how it looks it means business.
2. that engine.
3. A road , with sports off and exhaust off under 5k revs. Drives well and noise it not an issue.
4: intake noise is a key full feature.
5: ok I have to talk price, it’s a new GT car under list.
people moan about overs, where are all the moaners now they are under list, get them bought.
6: the WP interior.

dislikes.
1: in take noise, ok this was a like also, it’s also a dislike, is it too loud ?
2: rear end stability on bumps With oem geo and 35psi rears they did go up quite quick to this psi in the nice weather.

I might change my mind on these over time, and I will try softer psi next for road.

Great review, look forward to more. Most of the reviews I have seen and indeed Porsche’s own material, seem to rate the Spyder RS as a much better proposition for British B roads, but obviously not track. Next?

The thing is the GTS Boxster vs SRS review the GTS won. All be it in cold weather, but then we do live in the UK and that’s real life. Also the 718 Spyder is so good on the road for £80k , is a SRS worth £220k asking atm ? seems not as not seen one sell 2nd hand yet. I hate the roofs but that’s just me.
For 95% people the GTS is the better car In cayman or Boxster form. the cayman GTS 4.0 PDK SPASM car is very well rounded if you only have one Porsche. It’s up there for me from owning 18 porkers inc most of the hyped up ones.
very under rated car and one which would suit many GT buyer more Out in the real world and not the cars and coffee world ;-).
my GTS 4.0 has better road manors and compliance vs my 718 Spyder, and at 4K revs a bit more pick up then the GT engines. The 4RS needs 5k minimum 6k really, but with this shorter PDK gearing it’s prob the only GT car not able to hit a ton in 3rd gear.

Interesting comments D, and like others I look forward to future impressions on road and track.

I know a chap in R10 who has a car [in Flame Red?] who reckons that ear plugs are essential for track day driving!

Jeff

I will, not driven it again but I have dropped the PSi for the next run out and will do a 100-200kph test . I got a 8.6 100-200 in the 4.0 GTS which is better than Porsche figures, but we expect this as one up and they test 2 up and at higher sea levels.
hoping to see a nice time in the 4RS.

Congrats D... you know my thoughts already. Look forward to reading/discussion view points and catching up to have a play.
You need the extra 80hp to stay with me! lol.
