OK time for the kids and wife to go on Ebay...

I dream of a Mk1 997GT3....

Hubba, and indeed, hubba.

Don't like the new centre-lock wheels on the MkII.

Love the details and the noise and, well everything really...

The only watercooled 911 I would sell my kidneys for![;)]

Just a shame its Red Nick[:D][:D][:D]

I would have bought it otherwise.

D'ya know, you could go right off some people... [8|]

Envy is a terrible thing...

it looks fantastic - I'm sure I'll be seeing a few fly past at the ring in a couple of weeks [:D] the car park has more GT3's per square foot than anywhere else on the planet!

btw Nick - are you coming to Silverstone in july?

The new GT3 looks very nice indeed, looks a lot cleaner than the mk1 997 GT3 too.

On my 'to own before I die' list. Lets hope I have a while.

Really enjoyed the Drivers republic article, really like the new car in red.Like the narrow body instead of a widebody that the RS 997s have/will have.

You pay pass a couple too. I did last year in a 1600cc Skoda Felicia charity rally car!

About as close to automotive perfection as the Human race will ever get. The thing I like about these is that though packed with more and more electronic trickery than the prevoius model, they still have far less intrusive electronics than other cars so you can be sure without a shadow of a doubt that it is you driving the car and not some fancy electronic ECU buried somewhere under the dashboard.

The problem with these cars on trackdays is that you rarely see them being driven anywhere near their limits. Most owners of these things can't afford to stack them into a tyre wall or get into a tangle with an old banger. The problem with trackdays is that the older and more worthless the car the more fun you'll have. At my last trackday at Bedford the guy out there that seemed to be having the most fun was in a battered old Volvo estate (the classic boxy model). He was just hurling this thing round the track, it was swaying, rolling and lurching all over the place but he was on the ragged edge and was most probably having a great time.

Depends which trackday you go to Scott - I think to some people an 80k car is worth about as much to them as a 5k car is to us. I guess most will be insured as well. I remember seeing a new Ferrari 430 being caned at Oulton a few years ago (very rare sight I admit) & had a chat with the driver. The car had done 2000 miles from new, (and was on it second set of discs, pads, and tyres [:D]) he said there was no point in having a car like that if you didn't use it!

Bedford isn't my favourite venue - attracts lots of nutters & first time drivers. That Volvo driver sounds like an accident waiting to happen

Reasonable, although I can't guarantee that she's not been clocked...[:D][:D][:D]

What's the condition of inner sills? Do they get regularly treated & oiled?

Ahem, where is my coat...[8|]
