would going to 235 on the front counter that?

apart from poss increase in understeer are there no issues regards clearance
(i know its only a small increase in width but just unsure)

Hard to say.

Surely, especially on such a new car, it's best to stick with the recommended 'N' rated tyre sizes. As you increase the width you normally have to reduce the profile to maintain the same rolling diameter. Porsche might claim that this could jeopardise the rotational caliibrations for the ABS, PSM etc

Pirelli P-Zero Rossos are supposed to be very good for road use on the 996.

I have the Porsche TSB on tyre specs. If you would like a copy send me an email and I'll attach it to a reply.

I have the PZero Rossos which have lots of grip, but are a bit noisy. I will try the Conti Sport Contacts next time.

I have the Conti's on mine with 285s on the rear. They seem fine. Just had to replace an almost new one having put a nail through it from my garage floor. A bit peeved and relieved of £184. Fortunately no passenger on board, so punctured wheel travelled round with its seat belt on.
