old chestnut / tyres for turbo

Just about to reboot the car. Its currently running on Pirelli' N3's which have been ok but I think technology has move on abit.

Michelins are out as they have just gone up 18% and then best price I can get is £290 for the rears. The fronts are equal as expesive and I am not paying £300 extra for a set of tyres. So its either stick with Pirelli or try the Bridgestone SO2's?

Any thoughts

I think the Bridestones are great and they seem to last well.

I last paid £223.19 (incl) each for the rears (295/30/ZR 18) SO2's and £129.19 for the fronts (225/40/ZR 18).

I didn't like my old Bridgestone's that came with the car. I much prefer my new Michelin PS2's.

I paid £960 (fitted and incl VAT) for a full set from Event Mobile Tyre Service last year. They also come to YOU to fit them.

Hi Launcelot!,

Just to put this into perspective in 6 weeks, I have put a full set of tyres on my BMW, my 996t and my 997t. My BMW and my 996t need servicing. The 996 is a major one and the builder starts my third house extension on Monday and my Porsche club membership is due. The only thing faster than that gorgeous car of yours is the speed at which my bank accont is emptying!!!

I have eventually decided to sell my 996t, now prices have gone as low as they can go so will take maximum loss, so look out on Piston heads. Its the one lady driver car!

ps. I did order adaptive sports seats on the 997!, good advice!

pps. Just received PP and my god theres a hansome chap in there!!!!!!!!!!

Ah well, I understand now!
My advice (for what it's worth) is to cast aside all that outmoded machinery, buy a larger house (they're so cheap now) and get yourself some indecently sticky boots for the 997TT. Something that'll wear out in around 3½K miles will be fine.
You know it makes sense. [8D]
Regards,
Clive
PS. Glad you like the seats.
PPS. I'll pass your kind remarks about my Son!
