That was 08 - time to get some new pics I say.......! [:D]

I'll let you all know how the startup goes...!

Hi Donal,

Good to see you back, get yourself over for some events next year!

Tell me you've changed that rear bumper for a proper one? [:D][:D]

The more I see teledial alloys the more I like them .... but driving on the beach can't be good for the sills, surely?

Oli.

Welcome back - but what on earth happened to your Post count ?? Have you got a new version of your user name ?

Thanks a million for the welcome back Gents

@ Paul - I have often thought about changing "Desperate Dans Chin" - The exhaust will have to be changed as its about 2" too long for a UK bumper.. It looks really bad compared to the simple UK one

@ Oli - The 944 is galvanised so no problem [:D][:D].. We have heard this before. I drove the car really slowly out and back and gave her a good washing after - A few years ago I gave her a full inspection and thankfully all was well. I am intending to get her all treated underneath this winter.

@ Jon My accout was fully deleted so I have to start from scratch again...!

I am going to get the old girl started up this weekend - I am still insured on her so hopefully I will take her out a short run. The tax has been out since Sept 09 but the local Gardai are more interested in boy racers so I should be okay....

Well I was home in Donegal at the weekend and got motivated to get the 944 fired up again. I checked the oil/water and reconnected the battery... Got in and just went for it... After a year of quiet slumber she fired up no problem at all. She had been left in gear with the handbrake off. I let her idle for a few minutes and then she started to make a buzzy noise from the belt area at the front.... !

Id say the balance belt is slack ... This is a good indicator to me to get the belts and pump replaced ASAP. I drove around the house but no further - I have a good bit of work to do now but at least the incentive is there now. 1st mission is to put on the door handle as my fathers shed caught fire and my keys were lost in it. The handle had to be removed to get the profile and he then cut a new key... The US cars have no immobiliser fitted so happy days...!

I had forgotten just how good the car looks/sounds and even smells [:D] I am on a mission now .. To get her back up and running and NCT'ed - ready for next year...!

Welcome back Donal, nice to see those pics of the beige Beastie once more. Good luck with the recommisioning and I'd get the belts sorted asap
