On the hunt for a good S2.

Hi folks.

I've got an urge that's been growing stronger for years and isn't going away, so figure I'll need to do something to satisfy it this year, finally.

I neeeeeeed a 944 in my life and targeting the S2 just now.

It'll live outside and be used as 2nd car for when it's just me going somewhere without the wife/kid, but likely won't do more than 1-2k miles a year. Appreciate they need constant maintenance and that's fine, but ideally want something that's as good as it can be just now and not a project. Obviously not looking for a concours one though, it'll get used!

So currently on the hunt for a really nice S2 that will fit the bill. The Golf GTi I have just now is great (on paper) but doesn't give me any horn unfortunately.

If you know of a good one that's out there waiting for a new owner.... or you're planning to sell yours soon.... let me know!

Cheers!!!

Hi,

Yes my son Tom is about to sell his Guards Red S2 , it's been lovingly cared for and has all the right bits. But the 986 S2 is taking up half of his garage and he's due to inherit the 993 (hopefully not too soon) but he's been musing about having to part with it for about a year.,

Send me a PM with your email address and I'll get him in contact.

Done. [:D]

I had that very same urge and scratching it was one of the best moves I’ve made, so I probably know what’s going through your mind.

Ive owned mine for a few years now & absolute adore it.
Its not concours, but not far away.

After retiring recently, I’ve been toying with buying something else, so might be looking to sell.

Mine is rust free & wants for nothing. My local OPC recently asked to use it for marketing purposes saying they’ve not seen one as nice in years. (Made me feel so proud??)

One of the very last, 1992 cars with fsh, not to be confused with some of the others out there & gives me as broad a grin as my edition 40 CS!

??

That's the kind of story I like to hear when it comes to a successful 944 urge scratching. I've had plenty of folks telling me that buying an 'old' car is going to be a disaster!!!!

You've definitely caught my attention with a teasing post like that!

The least you can do is post some pics now and share a bit more info whilst I go and prepare a list of reasons why selling is the best thing you could ever do!

:ROFLMAO:

Don’t listen to them ??

I had more drama 3 months after buying a 3 year old 997 C2S from an OPC than I’d ever had anticipated. Praise be to approved used Porsche warranties??

Im really not sure about selling, I was just surfing & considering options, like old retired petrolheads do, when I read your post.

Anyway…

I keep it inside a Carcoon.
Everything works.
All belts last done in 2020.
New original Porsche radiator by OPC in 2021
Serviced twice since.

Could easily be used as a daily driver.
Drives, looks & feels like it’s just out the showroom (I kid you not!??)

No fancy electronic gadgets to worry about, just a brilliantly balanced pure drivers car.

I’m writing this & convincing myself to keep it??

Anyway, if there is one out there to suit you, make sure it ticks all the boxes.

Looks lovely and totally understand how hard it can be to sell something you love. I've got something in the garage I've had for 20 years now and can't see myself parting with it even though I rarely use it these days. It's definitely not concourse and not much fun round town.. it's a track toy really but too sentimental to part with it.

Half the fun is the hunt so quite happy to keep drooling over other people's current cars and at some point the stars will align and the right car will find me I'm sure!

Thanks.

DM me & I will send additional info via email, if you’re interested.

Sometimes things happen for a reason??
