On rarity a 964RS Touring is one of only 11 in the World, of which 7 were sold in the UK.
And having had chance to think through the issue, I believe it's every bit an RS --- even though my preference is M003 shaped (there were 290 !) rather than M007 shaped.
Is it worth £75k ? Well, in my view probably.
Is a 993RS RHD in very nice condition worth £95k ? One of 43 ? Yes, probably.
Is one of the new Porsche Classics worth £135k ? One of 250 ? When the biggest dealer in Europe is receiving only 2, yes, because they will all sell.
The simple fact is that both 964RS and 993RS were very expensive cars to make, and would themselves cost £135 + new if manufactured to this quality and by the historic method, today.
IMHO ...[]

I think the car in question sold at Gmund a couple of years ago for £65k
Personally I don't think the asking price is OTT - but I would say that wouldn't I? []

In conclusion, the only reason Des shouldn't buy it is of he wants to use it --- and there lies the rub --- [][]
Chris have you been on the cooking Sherry?[] And by the way 292 M003 N-GT produced and 300 Chassis numbers ...... which I would say a third have been lost to the Armco as a guess[X(] To me the N-GT 64' RS is the one that in time will be worth far more than any other narrow bodied 964 including Cup Cars IMHO...
It is civilised, it is fast and Fun! I think we can see from the numbers produced for the UK market it wasn't a outright winner in the revenue stakes for Porsche x 7, which makes it v. rare.
It is considered by some the poor relation to the other RS's, but if you ever get the chance to drive one you instantly get the concept behind why they were built. They are very different to the Lightweight, N-GT & Cup and stand alone in the comparison stakes.

Because was time to move on, having owned and tracked a fantastic werkes race car. I could not look forward to driving it on the road, just track where it came alive. Young man car, gone to a good home.
I also for a period lost the use of my lower body, having being diagnosed with MS two years ago about the time I bought the car 6 months prior, really struggled getting in and out. Lost my eyesight totally three years prior which was a big pre-cursor of the MS. So having recovered thought I would be sensible and buy something more user friendly. Never know when I will get another attack, can be mild or severe. So an easier option will be a non-caged (not full) M002 option lightweight. Al least I have owned an N-GT and as I have posted before a totally different car to the M002 on track, if only I had my 993 325pony engine it .... maybe not, think I would be eating Belgium Hospital food. Be interesting to see how it performs now with a fesh rebuild.
Nearly bought your car Mat, great car you must take it over to Alzen and get it autographed on the boot lid. I can do a good "Butzi" signature if anyone is interested.
I think £75K is silly money

The Touring version is a truely great car IMHO, I love driving the car on the roads and wouldn't personally consider it in any way a track car as the other RS derivatives obviously are.
