One-off track day insurance

Hello All

Yet another insurance question!

Any suggestions for companies that offer one-off track day insurance?

ClassicLine won't offer me cover for a BookaTrack day at Spa. Anybody else had similar problems with them (I know they will cover Abbeville as it qualifies as a PCGB day)?

Now thinking of switching to a different insurer as foreign track days were no issue with Hagerty - any suggestions?

Thanks

David

Thanks for the info Mel.

Reason for asking the question is that I thought that I would be able to get cover from ClassicLine for a day at Spa as part of my policy with them.

I've now asked ClassicLine to provide cover for a number of track days and the only one they will cover is Abbeville.

Full list is:

Abbeville - yes for an extra £100
BaT Spa - no
BaT Donnington - no
Silverstone GP Gold Track - no
Snetterton 300 RMA - no

From the info they have provided it seems that as a rule of thumb they will cover all PCGB track days (no extra charge), but they will probably only offer cover on other track days if the organiser is a member of one of the industry bodies AND entry is restricted to Porsches or other similar marques.

That's too restrictive for me so I'm switching to Mannings.

They wouldnt cover RMA?

I'm very, very suprised. Is this on their base package, or at all. I know I had to pay additional to cover Abbeville, but it wasnt a lot.

I am also about to switch over to Mannings - got a very competitive quote, policy includes track cover, and they do a 3k and 5k miles lower cost option. my last track day at Brands' cost me £200 for one day cover!

The specific RMA day I asked about was the Snetterton 300 day on 3rd August. And they won't cover me on it at all. The explanation I was given was that they won't offer cover because it is an open pit event and the vehicles attending the track are not all Porsche, or of similar marque. So they seem to think that the risk is that people in cheaper, less prestigious cars are inherently more likely to crash into you. Can't say that tallies with my experience of drivers at track days :)

I was very surprised that they won't cover me on this sort of track day even if the organiser is a reputable one registered with the industry bodies like ATDO.

Given this is a public forum and I don't want to get sued, I should probably point out that your circumstances may be sufficiently different that they will offer you cover, but my advice would be to give them a call and ask them to confirm the cover they will offer on specific days.

Suffice to say I am pretty pissed off with them as I don't think the wording in their documentation is as open and clear as it could be, though when I checked the small print it is true they do not guarantee they will offer cover.

If you want to discuss further Hugh, drop me a PM.

Just changing to Mannings unlimited Track days and Spa if proper organiser ...............good price special to Pork ..................also offered fleet policy for daily driver + my old '72 911......above all listened attentively and then came back with constructive stuff...........................specifically left Aon /FF as no one listens and consistently send wrong docs , like every damn time !
