After loading my boot with Christmas shopping bags late this afternoon I was about to get into my 997 when a car pulled alongside me and the driver and his wife frantically alerted me to the fact that there were some shopping bags in my engine.

They were genuinely concerned and I was a little bemused at their observation until quickly realising that they weren't aware that the engine was in the back.

Maybe I should have told them that I was heating up dinner so that it would be ready by the time I got home...I suspect they might have believed that as well.

Brought a smile to my face.

The silly bit is that a fellow human with perhaps some common sense could even possibly consider that someone with such a modern car would do a thing like that.

It's the way you tell em!

Customs at Dunkirk ferry knew no better, asked me to open the boot, I opened the rear then the front - they had no idea there was a front boot, Shame i told them as i could have set up business importing those that want entry into the UK

I used to root around in the luggage compartment of my 911 to find some kit necessary to carry out my job.

It surprised me how often the milk of human kindness was demonstrated with passers-by stopping specifically to offer advice as to how get my engine going again! [:)]

Regards,

Clive.
