Ooh the anticipation!

Just had a call from Promax who have fitted KW to my Turbo - apparently the headlight range needed adjusting to get it through the MOT 'cos the car is so low! Can't wait to see my new groundscraper next week - it's all about stance on these cars (for a failed car designer like me anyway)! I'm aiming for your record Ed but with 18" rims I feel I might not quite make it!

Hey Pat, you really are a piccie fiend aren't you! To save you time I would just add 'Please add pictures' into your signature on here, rl, reutterwerk etc...!

Excited for you, they are THAT good, can't wait to hear your reaction after a blast down a country lane......

Benny, have you had 968 castor mounts fitted, especially with 18" ers?

It`ll spoil it if you dont?

If you've needed your headlights adjusting it sounds like Promax have set up the car the same way as mine and Paul Hilux's - with a slight but noticeable nose-down attitude. My headlights were pointing down to the floor until I got them adjusted. I've just had mine rased an inch at the front to flatten the car's stance a bit as it was a bit too low and aggressive for the road - an accident waiting to happen really. So now it is low and flat. I've not really noticed any detrimental effect of handling as well.

Don't forget to consider some action on your front A-arm ball joints.

Yeah A-arms are on the list of things to do, behind brakes now unfortunately. Scott I always thought your car looked lower at the rear in your avatar? Any more pics?

The car was lower in the rear - in fact before I got KW it was slightly nose up and it didn't need much re-indexing. THe only explanation is that in my maintenance history there is an invoice for the TB's to be reindexed as one side had dropped so I can only assume they didn't get the height quite right.

I've got no photo's unfortunately - before I got the nose raised I should have done a before and after.

One thing is for sure - you'll love the drive. It still astonishes me when I get into it if i've not driven it for a while. The Rennbay geo correcting kit seems to be doing the business as well.

Hey Bennyboy,

Just realised it was your car I was admiring when I dropped mine off last week [;)], your wheels look even better in the flesh. Can't wait to see the piccies of your car nice and low on those KW's.

She's back! (Thanks for the kind comments Dave K). Drove the 2 hours home from Promax with my old M030 and air-con kit in the back, then took it out for a fast-road drive at home.

I imagine the guys at Promax get pretty used to this but I must have had a grin from ear-to-ear on the short lane up to their garage - the stance looks incredible and I'm really quite shocked how low it looks. No rubbing issues at all! The front is 615mm floor to middle of arch and the rear 10mm more at 625. Not at all bad with 8.5's up front and 10's at the back! I wont wax lyrical about the impact of the KW kit as it's been written about many times before, but overall the car just rides so much more 'modernly' if such a word exists! It's still very firm, but it 'bumps' rather than 'crashes' and the higher-speed cornering attitude is more more composed and gives considerably more confidence to push on. Chuffed to bits!

And get this, in the 20 months I've owned the car it has never blown cold air through the vents (air con never worked). So in my quest for lightness I asked Promax to remove the air-con stuff (which weighs 10kg would you believe) and my car now blows 'cool' air through the vents - go figure!?

Pics and car weight to follow.

Special thanks to my KW supplier - you know who you are!

Where are the pictures? !!

I know exactly what you mean about "modern" - that's how I would describe it when I drove Scott's car last year.
