So on waking and seeing all the lovely snow i thought what a good time to see how she handles,,,,
Off came the C-tek,,,started on the button as always,,,,
Gently took her on to the avenue [next to woodford green golf course so trees and grass on drivers side],,,,
after 60 or so yards i gently applied the brakes and thats when it all went wrong and suffice to say i come to a halt around 2ft from "kissing" a big old oak!,,,,,,
Turned her around and at 5mph took her straight back into her garage and re-attached my C-tek and thats where she will stay until much more clement weather,,,,
Now once it settles i be seeing how good or not the 4 wheel drive haldex system is on the mk5 R32,,,
Been waiting a long time to see how she performs in the snow[:D],,,jasonp

you have to take care in a 944 due to the tyres.. skinny tyres are best for these conditions...just take care and all should be fine.. it's the other nutters that you need to be aware off...

I've got 235's all round on the Audi Pete, it went straight up my drive no problem today. Her indoors Fiesta ST had no chance.

I had a MK4 R32 with Haldex and it was ok in the snow. The Haldex does need serviced properly to remain effective IIRC. My turbo is manageable in the snow if care is taken. It's easy to spin up the wheels on wide summer tyres. It's also a good idea to make sure your ABS works properly! Sounds like the only thing keeping you out a giant tree was good fortune! Either way your R32 ought to be a tad more manageable in inclement conditions!

My son was telling about an R32 in the side of a tree that he saw yesterday morning on his way to work... it's not what you drive, it's how you drive....:)

Thanks Stuart And Peter,,,,
yeah it reminded me of a awful spin in a 86 911,, i was around 22yrs old on a greasy road in feb,,terrifying!
r32 had its haldex service a few ks ago and probably overserviced so it should be ok but no kissing trees,,,,,,,,jasonp
