OPC 111 point check - what else

Hello,
I'm about to buy a fairly low mileage 96 993C4 that will have had an OPC 111 point check done. Trying to decided if I should also have an independent PPI. Clearly it may show up additional issues but I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the value of a PPI on top of the OPC111. Are there any big worry areas the 111 does not look at?

Anyone seen a list on the web that shows what the OPC111 point check actually covers - I can only find a few comments about how it checks the wear on the vanity mirrors!

Thanks

Mark

I would prefer a PPI by an independent with a good reputation with 993s rather than an OPC 111 point check.

The OPC 111 version is only suitable IMHO for those looking for a Porsche extended warranty on sub 9 year old cars.

When I bought from a main dealer I thought I would get an independent check carried out just in case as I was spending 19 years worth of savings ... the independent picked up a number of other items. To follow the theme from above, go for the independent.

PPI is money well spent. We wouldn't have bought ours without.

The 111 point check ain't a bad thing for peace of mind. Our RO just organized it and it's good to have the OPC confirm that your car is in pretty good shape but it's by no means sufficient if you are about to purchase a car. You want to be SURE that the object of your desire is in top condition throughout.

I had JZM check out my GT3, the car was dropped off straight from an OPC where it had just been fitted with 2 new rads & an inspection. JZM found a few things the OPC didn't.
Got a detailed report by e-mail the same afternoon & i got to speak to the inspector over the phone aswell to go through the report

Well worth the £140.

Thanks for all the advice - I'm still waiting for the OPC to complete their 111 checks and any fixes they decide to do before they let me see it. (This is happening at no cost to me so I have to decide if I want to pay the entire cost of a PPI myself). I'll probably do so, if I'm happy that it's likely to be the car I buy once I see the 111 report.
