OPC Bolton to the Tyre rescue

I like to give credit when I believe its due so here goes.

Just a few days after I got my 997 C2 from OPC Bolton in March I managed to get a nail in an almost new tyre. The rears are Continental Contisport Contact 3 N1 - 295/19/30.

My local National chappie said he would repair it as long as I swore that I would not track the car as he said that he should not really be repairing this type of tyre etc etc. At the price he quoted me for replacement I would have said anything to get him to fix it! Which he did bless him and all for a £5!

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a 3" nail in the same tyre!!! Cap in hand I went back to my friendly tyre man who steadfastly refused to do another repair, despite this and the previous puncture being in the centre area.

He usually does me excellent deals on my tyres and he cannot be beaten on prices - except this time! He said to try Tyreshopper online and he would fit it.

I had a look online and Tyreshopper had them listed they were not in stock at that time. Price approx £350 inc vat.

I tried quite a few other online places but none were as cheap and some as much as £385.

As the slow puncture was losing pressure at the rate of 1 bar per day I needed to act pretty dam quick, as I use the car for work. A call to my local OPC at Bolton and not only did they have them in stock but they did a great deal for me by undercutting Tyreshopper's price.

Great service once again from OPC Bolton.

That's a good result Peter and my PC tells me that they get first dibs on N rated tyres when they are in short supply, as they seem to be most of the time!
BTW, is someone scattering nails on the roads up your way..........?[&:]

I had a very similar result with one of my local OPCs for a set of rears a while back, came in cheaper than Black circles....[&:]
Sadly however last time I asked them they were way out on price [:(] and I went with Protyre...

Certainly well worth considering the OPC and don't be too quick to write them off, it only costs a phonecall...

What a coincidence......I picked up a screw in my offside rear tyre at the weekend too []

The state of London roads hey?

I'm off to fix it on Thursday as it has stayed fully inflated....fingers crossed the Barnet STS Tyre people can work their magic.

I had a phone call from a member today asking about tyres and availability... looks like we're short of Pirellis at the moment in the South...[:(]
Be warnerd [;)]

The member had been offered another brand by the OPC but as we all know, next time round they will be out of stock!!
Not sure what we can do if anything about the situation....?
