OPC extended Warranty - a good story!!

I thought I would post sth positive for a change as lots of bad press in terms of OPC trying to wriggle out!

I got to work the other day and noticed a boling water sort of smell....went to the passenger side and the car is dripping coolant onto the car park just by front wheel. got to be a rad or sth!

I had noticed I was loosing coolant and thought it migh thave been the coolant tank

great service from OPC in getting the car picked up and off to west london.

Michael is a very good service agent down there and kept me updated. I got a call yesterday to say it looks like there is no stone damage and it is a mfr defect....fingers crossed!!

call this morning reports a 'small explosion internally' resulting in rapid coolant loss! so all covered and whar a relief!

i have had probs before with OPC but this was dealt with well and efficicently, including the courtesy car.

saves me best part of 650 gbp so really looking forward to my hols next week and I think I will treat the old girl to some re furbed wheels!

sorry to hear of others woes but there are some positives out there to the OPC warranty, which I will be taking again as I have had well over a 1000 gbp done on the car!!

get out there voting as well chaps!

Seems wierd that we feel we should praise Porsche for doing exactly what they should be doing. We pay good money for a comprehensive warranty - we should therefore get good comprehensive service when we need to call upon our warranty.

Fair point, but if we only shout out when things go wrong then the overall message is misleading. Praise is still deserved even when the action taken was to be expected.

For my part, I've always used Swindon and have been 101% happy with the guys there so far. Since delivery, the aircon leaked and the light switch died - both were sorted with no fuss, quickly, and with no charge. The two services to date were arranged promptly, and Rob has always taken pains to explain what was being done and keep me up to date with progress.

Leon in sales is a good guy - always ready to chat and actually seems to know his stuff (!). And Cheryl on reception deserves special mention for her smiles and her thoughtfulness.

Now I'll go and shout at someone needlessly, just to restore the natural balance of the universe [:D]

Spot on.

My experience with Porsche Swindon, over a 17 year period, (Malaya Billingshurst before that) and Porsche Cars GB has always been excellent. I also use JZMachtech for my earlier cars and, likewise, nothing but praise. In the case of Swindon, it helps that Peter Lovett is such a dedicated Porsche enthusiast, and I think that filters through to their staff.

But it's a valid point. You only need 5% of customers to be unhappy, justifiably or not, and it can create a distorted picture.

When my car was last in at West London OPC they told me the header tank was leaking and replacement was not covered by the warranty! I tried to argue but they wouldn't budge....good job I have it checked by another garage who confirmed it wasn't leaking! Saved me the best part of £200!!![>:]
